Presenter: Doug Brusa In the past 50 years or so, Oregon State University has become widely-acknowledged as one of the world-leaders in ocean sciences research and education (No. 3 in one recent worldwide ranking). Join us to hear some highlights of OSU’s ocean-related work, including construction of an open-water site off Newport to test making carbon-free electricity from the motion of ocean waves; construction underway of three state of-the-art oceangoing research vessels for OSU and the national research fleet; and how OSU plans to educate future generations of students through the new Marine Studies undergraduate curriculum and Marine Studies Building at the Newport campus.
