SUMMARY:Lyrical Legends –– Fred Bassett and Sonya Kazen\, Presenters
DESCRIPTION:FRED BASSETT and SONYA KAZEN\n– Oregon Coast original Americana songsters –\nThe Oregon coast acoustic duo of Sonya Kazen and Fred Bassett bring a wide variety of musical and life experiences to their decade-long collaboration. Their tunes run the gamut of folk\, blues\, ragtime\, bluegrass\, and rock styles. Alternately poignant\, hilarious\, rousing and joyful\, their original songs celebrate people\, times and places both past and present. They love connecting with audiences through\ntheir songs and stories.SONYA KAZEN – Hailing from New York City\, Sonya began her musical career in the San Francisco Bay Area during the heyday of singer/songwriting\, then honed her vocal chops in Portland rock\, traditional jazz\, and variety bands. Now she has come round full circle to her acoustic music and songwriting roots\, and is loving it.\nShe plays rhythm and lead guitar\, and keyboard. \nFRED BASSETT is a Fifth generation Oregonian\, native to Mill City in the Santiam Canyon foothills of the Cascades. His songs reflect his lifelong love of the Pacific Northwest\, a strong sense of family and respect for trailblazers and weirdos alike. He began writing songs in high school and came back to it after his kids were grown and gone. Since that time\, says Fred\, “it has been my inspiration\, my vocation and my therapy.” Fred plays guitar\, banjo\, ukelele and is a virtuoso on the kazoo and slide whistle. \nThe duo performs at house concerts from Oregon to British Columbia\, at local farmers markets\, cafes\, and breweries\, and listening rooms. They love to support good causes by performing at benefit shows. Their 14-song CD of all-original songs\, OPENING REMARKS\, is available at most streaming platforms\, and at fredbassettandsonyakazen.bandcamp.com . We invite\nyou to give a listen! \nWhen not making music and writing songs\, the couple are active volunteers in the local community\, are busy keeping deer out of their garden at the Dairy Aerie in tiny Cloverdale\, Oregon\, or exploring the outback in their camp trailer.

SUMMARY:Annual OCLI Business Meeting and Potluck
DESCRIPTION:Yes\, Business Meetings are important. That’s why we have them. Or… maybe it’s just tradition at this point. Hard to say. \nEither way\, we’re gathering again today. But let’s be honest—the real headline event isn’t the meeting. It’s the POTLUCK. \nLast year’s potluck wasn’t just good—it was legendary. People cooked like they were auditioning for a Food Network show. It was a feast. A banquet. A culinary plot twist none of us saw coming. \nSo yes\, come to the meeting. Nod thoughtfully. Look engaged. And then stay for the potluck\, where the food will once again outshine every agenda item we pretend to care about. \n
